Castle Belasi
Castel Belasi - Contemporary Art Center for Eco Thought - becomes a satellite venue of the Nauru Pavilion

From June 5 to October 25, 2026, Castel Belasi - Contemporary Art Center for Eco Thought - becomes a satellite venue of the Nauru Pavilion. There is an open call for one artist.
The public institution Castel Belasi - Contemporary Art Centre for Eco Thought - situated in a Medieval castle in the Italian Alps, becomes a satellite venue of the Nauru National Pavilion with Signal from the Ground from June 5 to October 25, 2026.
The exhibition is part of the 2026-2027 program dedicated to the soil and features works by around twenty artists from the Pavilion and more. Curated by the artistic director, Stefano Cagol, it draws on UNESCO's warning that up to 90% of the Earth's surface could be degraded by 2050 if current extraction and production practices continue. The works spark a reflection on fertility and fragility, biodiversity and exploitation, extraction and overbuilding, and serve as a call for awareness and regeneration. The project responds to Castel Belasi's mission, inspired by Timothy Morton’s philosophy, and the castle’s ancient frescoes, which invite us to consider the consequences of all our choices.
Opened since 2021, Castel Belasi - Contemporary Art Center for Eco Thought - has realised more than ten exhibitions with over a hundred international artists, including AES+F, Wim Delvoye, Gregor Hildebrandt, and Ai Weiwei. The main partner is the MUSE Science Museum, a leading Italian institution.
