The poet and musician born and residing in Nauru speaks of the island and the changes affecting its population through writing and music as forms of sharing. Nauruans have a long history, with archaeological evidence showing that the first inhabitants arrived 3,000 years ago, forming a complex tribal society before the arrival of Europeans and the onset of intensive extractivism.

His song Trapped is a cry that demands to be heard:
«Trapped by the weight of someone else’s wealth / Generations born on borrowed dust / … The soil remembers every cut / … We were more than a resource, more than a deal / More than numbers stamped in steel / This island breathed before the drills / Before progress learned how to kill.»
